Attention Hunters: 2024-25 Big Game Harvest Survey Deadline Approaching

Not all Colorado hunters are eligible to take the Big Game Harvest Survey. Hunters that have been selected are encouraged to complete their survey before Feb. 15, 2025.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife randomly selected approximately 170,000 deer, elk, and pronghorn license holders to participate in the 2024 Big Game Harvest Survey and the deadline to complete the survey is fast approaching. The data collected through this survey is vital to CPW wildlife managers and will be used to inform deer, elk, and pronghorn season and license setting for 2025 and beyond. Your response is important, even if you did not hunt or harvest!

Selected hunters were notified via email, text message, and/or live-operator phone call that they are eligible to complete the 2024 Big Game Harvest Survey. Hunters that have been selected are encouraged to complete their survey before Feb. 15 by clicking on the link in the email or text message, visiting survey.colobgharvest.com, or by calling toll-free at 1-855-9BG-HARV (1-855-924-4278). Only selected license holders are eligible to complete the survey.

Only those hunters who have been randomly selected and notified by CPW are eligible. Harvest Survey Frequently Asked Questions

During the quick survey, selected hunters will be asked where and when they hunted, whether they harvested, what they harvested, and whether they were satisfied with the herd. They will also have the option to answer five additional questions on crowding, satisfaction, and preferences for future herd management.

Big game harvest reports from past seasons are available on CPW’s website. 2024 reports will be finalized and posted in March.

  1. We at 78 yrs old did not for the last year. I think that stinks but no animals here except for the bear that was given to us by DOW.

  2. How is it legal to make Colorado people buy a small game tag before they can apply fore a big game tag . Another scam of Colorado DOW…….

  3. And about the wolf thing in this state is another story . one incedence in a 24 hour period is B S the rancher has to suffer becouse you people thing its a good thing. You people are stupid and incociderent

  4. the mountain lion tag reduction is B.S in area 85 it self should have at least 40 tags . If the officer in the zone would do his job or if Denver would do its job … They would know they need to do a spring and fall hunt… Same as the bear problem .

  5. My hunt this year was totally destroyed at noon the first day by being forced to move my camp (which meant “pack up” and go home). The NFS war on dispersal camping, enforced by the DOW, is going to ruin hunting opportunity in Colorado.

  6. Unfortunately I stopped elk hunting. I used to hunt near Kremmling but some wolves were released near there and I cant compete with something that can hunt year round. I wish the best for you out there.

  7. Please review and delete the reintroduction of wolves to Colorado. This smells like a radical end run to eliminate the need of elk and deer hunting in Colorado. The DOW and CSP should embrace hunters and fisherman that have historically funded fish and game. This is ridiculous!

  8. I am a non-resident faithfully chasing points and visiting Colorado in the Fall for many years. I am ready to pull the plug on wasting my dollars. Point creep, less tags, wolves. Your hands might be tied with the wolves but you get the point.

  9. I am an out of state hunter who has been hunting Colorado since I was 16 years old. I’m 60 now. I have to say the hunting, point creep, & politics have gotten to a point that I’m taking my small group to a different state now. The game management has severely deteriorated over the years & it’s become obvious It’s all about the dollar, not the experience. Maybe the pendulum will swing back the other way some day, but I’m not holding my breath.

  10. I believe that the United States Constitution says that a state cannot set quotas for non-residents of that state.
The points system in Colorado sets quotas that only 40% and sometimes 30% of the total hunting permits can go to non-residents.
A state can charge more to a non-resident but cannot quota.

  11. Thanks for all you do and the hard work that goes behind everything. Lots of negative comments but you are all heroes to me and my family.

  12. To anyone that thinks CPW is responsible for wolf reintroduction, think again. Wolves are being reintroduced because of a public mandate that was passed. If you don’t like it, look in the mirror, most especially you front range (tyranny of the majority). The governor is leading the charge here, don’t be deceived.

  13. Lee Schoffstall……….I was eligible and received an EMail to take the Big Game Harvest Survey……said I didn’t have a survey?

    1. If you were select for the survey and are having issues, please call toll-free at 1-855-9BG-HARV (1-855-924-4278) for support. Thanks

  14. Why did” lines from readers” be deleted from the outdoor magazine? You received many constructive comments from your clientel that exposed management concerns. This was a good way to gain input.

    1. Hi Bob, I’m not sure what you are referring to? Was that in the print magazine? If so I’ll follow up with Wayne (magazine editor) to see why there was a change. Thanks

  15. i been hunting big game in colo for 20 plus years license keep going up on out of state hunters i think you are trying to run us off you about to git thier Ron
