Meet Eeland Stribling. Eeland is a fly fishing guide, environmental educator, comedian and cookie nerd with around 12 years of fly fishing experience. His passion for pursuing fish, learning about their behaviors, understanding the ecology of their habitats, and working to protect them has been a lifelong commitment.

Volunteering Fits Eeland

Eeland genuinely cares about our planet, the environment, and wildlife. He believes that helping people appreciate the value of these elements can rally more individuals to protect them as a community. Growing up with a grandfather who was a wildlife biologist, Eeland developed a deep understanding and love for nature, and he aims to share this passion in the same way his grandfather introduced it to him.

He aims to ensure that everyone has access to nature while providing a friendly face for those who may feel intimidated about where to start. Eeland believes that when you volunteer, you become the welcoming smile people associate with acquiring new skills or exploring new hobbies.

Eeland often feels re-energized by his experiences and knows that the time he spends with people in the outdoors matters. Frequently, he is someone’s introduction to nature and the outdoors. Encouraging everyone who participates in his events to feel comfortable, ask questions, explore, and grow from their mistakes is a powerful way to connect. He wants participants to know there are no silly questions, and they will be safe while having fun. Eelands’ sense of connection is a rewarding validation and an outstanding example of the power of volunteering.

If you’re like Eeland and you’re looking for a way to positively impact other people and our environment, Colorado Parks and Wildlife would love your help. Visit CPW Connect and sign up to volunteer today!
