For trout fisherman, early spring is one of the best times to fish Colorado’s lakes and reservoirs.  Not only is it an excellent time of year for anglers to fill bag limits, but many trophy-sized trout and lake trout (Mackinaw) are landed in those first days and weeks after ice-out.
