Colorado Outdoors Podcast: 2.3 – CPW Hunter Outreach with Bryan Posthumus

Summary

In this episode, CPW’s Statewide Coordinator for Hunter Outreach, Bryan Posthumus, joins the show to talk about the 2023 hunting seasons, his work with novice hunter programs and what it takes to foster the next generation of hunters in Colorado who contribute so much to CPW’s conservation mission.

Hunting is a crucial management tool for wildlife in North America, and the sale of hunting licenses help fund key projects from wildlife habitat improvements to the reintroduction of species such as moose, river otter, Canadian lynx and many more.

Hunting is also a key economic driver for many towns across Colorado. Together, hunting and fishing bring in more than $3 billion a year and it impacts all 64 counties across our state. Hunting and fishing also help support more than 25,000 full time jobs, from small businesses to manufacturers to the tourism industry.

Listen to this discussion to learn more about opportunities CPW provides new hunters, get inspired to go hunt for a different species and learn more about how experienced hunters can help share their knowledge and passion to the next generation.
