Once common in montane habitats between 7,000-12,000 feet in the Southern Rocky Mountains, the boreal toad has experienced dramatic population declines over the past two decades.

A first-of-its-kind life jacket loaner station was opened Tuesday by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. It wouldn’t have happened without a unique bond formed with Norwood resident Pamela Barrett.

Known as premiere whitewater destination, AHRA also offers developed and dispersed camping, gold-medal fishing, incredible wildlife viewing, and hiking and climbing opportunities.
